Goals and video highlights: Shakthar Donetsk 0-1 FC Barcelona

April 12, 2011 No Comments

FC Barcelona came through their Champions League quarter-final second leg against Shakhtar Donetsk without any hiccups to book a place in the last four after a 1-0 win at the Donbass Arena completed a 6-1 aggregate success.

Lionel Messi, who played despite pre-match speculation that he may be rested with the tie effectively settled after last week’s 5-1 win at the Nou Camp, scored the only goal of the game just before half-time. This is his 48th goal of the season, clearing his own record ( tied with Ronaldo in the 1995-1996 Season) of 47th goals in one season with about 10 matches left to go.
