Pepe’s aggression on Messi. Should he get suspended?
Posted by Football Tickets Barcelona in blog, Copa del Rey, FC Barcelona on Thursday 19 January 2012
On 18th of January 2012, for the first leg of the quarterfinals of the Spanish Cup, Real Madrid 0-2 FC Barcelona (video highlights: here), Pepe seems to have lost it once again=;
Should he get suspended? Cast your vote below. Thank you

Some of Pepe’s controversial tackles in video (… and a bit of history) below:

Kepler Laveran Lima Ferreira, Pepe
Kepler Laveran Lima Ferreira (born 26 February 1983), aka Pepe, is a Brazilian-born Portuguese footballer who plays for Real Madrid in La Liga.
On 10 July 2007, Real Madrid signed Pepe to a five-year contract, for a fee of €30 million.
In 2009, he was involved in a fight during training with teammate Javier Balboa.
On 21 April 2009, he was involved in an incident with Getafe CF’s Javier Casquero: He brought down the midfielder in the penalty area, and was subsequently sent off. He then proceeded to kick the fallen opponent twice, (on his shin and on his lower back). When being pulled away from Casquero, he also pushed his head into the turf and stamped on him several times. He also struck another Getafe player, Juan Albin, in the face. He eventually received a 10-game ban.
On 27 April 2011, in the UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg, he was sent off for a controversial dive at Daniel Alves (check for yourself here) early in the second half, in an eventual 2–0 home loss.
On 12 July 2011, Pepe extended his contract again, until 2016.

History of El Clasico

Club Rivalry
Real Madrid and FC Barcelona have been rivals since the 30′s, after the dictatorship of Franco in 1939. During the 1930′s, people showed more interest in their political meetings than it did in their football matches, with FC Barcelona having to tour America to look for funding after the death of their president in the late 30′s. Some players never returned after this ‘rescue tour’ and the club faced a very difficult time with no president and a decrease in club memberships and subscriptions. Since the Civil War, the two teams have still hung closely to their political and cultural views and tensions.
FC Barcelona represent the Catalans, who propose a complete independence from Spain, as a separate state, and Real Madrid represent Castile, the former kingdom that became a part of Spain itself. Both teams are dominant in La Liga (Spanish League) in year out and it is this rivalry that has became knows as the El Clásico.

Pep Guardiola agrees with Sandro Rosell on reduction of clubs.
Posted by Football Tickets Barcelona in blog, FC Barcelona, Media, News, Spanish League on Wednesday 9 November 2011
Sandro Rosell said the La Liga needs to be reduced from 18 clubs to 16 in order to make the league more competitive, now Pep Guardiola has come out in support of the idea, although he has no idea how it would work.
The coach and former player at FC Barcelona had this to say on the subject, “It will be a much more competitive league with 16 compared to 20 clubs”
“All matches are difficult but, with fewer teams, we would have more time to recover. But without doubt they would increase the number of international friendly games, because the people want football.” (We at footballticketsbarcelona.com would never try and put our words in Peps mouth, he means BARCA football there!).
At the same press conference Guardiola also said that Barca striker David Villa was pushing past the pain barrier with his shin injury, nice to see some footballers can do this !
He continued “He has a little problem with his shin, it really hurts him,” he said.
“But he endures it because he is very tough, very competitive.”

Leo Messi “A third hat trick is very difficult”
Posted by Football Tickets Barcelona in blog, FC Barcelona, Media on Friday 4 November 2011
Two days after scoring his second hat trick in a row, the 13th of his career, and 200 goals as Barca Player – Leo Messi attended a promotional event for Adidas The world’s No. 1 does not reject any questions.
Is it true that you and Villa are not speaking, as published Superdeporte?
This was a surprise for us, this news. I dont know where it came out. The Guaje and I get along very well, as with other colleagues, both inside and outside the locker room. There is nothing to say about that because we dont know anything, and does not worry us.
What did you make of the interpretations of criticism you received for not scoring in three games?
I neither know nor do I care if I wanted to annoy criticizers.
You have always professed undying love for Barça. What would happen if you were to go away from here?
For money I will never leave Barca never. I would go if the club wants me again that my performance was not the mismoo the club or people doubted me, but otherwise I do not look outside.

Messi buries Mallorca
Posted by Football Tickets Barcelona in blog, FC Barcelona, Match highlights, Media, Spanish League on Tuesday 1 November 2011
Lionel Messi ended his three-match goalless run by scoring a hat-trick inside 17 minutes as Barcelona enjoyed a 5-0 home drubbing of Mallorca in La Liga.
It was little more than Barca deserved from a dominant performance that carried them back to the top of La Liga before Real Madrid visited Real Sociedad later in the evening.

FC Barcelona v Mallorca
Posted by Football Tickets Barcelona in blog, FC Barcelona, News, Spanish League on Friday 28 October 2011
Mallorca have scored on each of their last four visits to the Camp Nou in Primera, the only current side in Primera to be on such a run.
It is seven years since a side managed to score in their fifth consecutive trip to Barcelona’s ground in the top flight (Real Zaragoza, Sep 2004).
Mallorca have won three times at the Camp Nou since 2000 in the league, the joint-most of any side.
Barcelona have scored in their last 18 league meetings with the islanders.
The last time Messi, Villa and Pedro all scored in the same match in the league was at Mallorca in February.
All 10 of Lionel Messi’s league goals this season have come at the Camp Nou.
Last time out Barcelona scored their first goal of the season that wasn’t from open play or from inside the box (Xavi direct free kick).
In this match Barcelona could keep a ninth consecutive clean sheet at home in the league for only the second time in their history (last time was in 1986).
Mallorca have won only one of their last 17 away games in the league since the start of last November.
The islanders’ last clean sheet on the road in the league came in March 2010, a run of 27 games.
