FC Barcelona managed to get a valuable draw in Valencia in the first leg of the Spanish Cup semifinal. Both goals were scored in the first half: Jonas put the home side ahead, and Puyol equalised with a header. Pinto should have been sent off for a clear hand outside his box. Messi missed a penalty and has not scored since his hat trick in Malaga last month.
The Blaugranas remain confident despite the draw.

If you go with a 1-2 or 1-3 you sometimes get the impression that the tie is over”. Mascherano shares the same optimism: “The tie depends exclusively on us, and that is the most important thing,”

Without Goalkeeper Victor Valdés, and with Xavi on the bench, FC Barcelona delivered a serious match agaisnt Danish Champions FC Copenhagen. Messi scored in each half to secure the win and the first place in their Champions League group. David Villa did not score despites good efforts. The other satisfaction for Pep Guardiola was the fantastic match delivered by ‘el Jefecito’, Mascherano.
