The Champions League quarter-finals

The draw for the quarter-finals of the world’s most important club football tournament was just made official today in Nyon, Switzerland.

For the first time since the 1995/96 season, there are no English teams at that stage of the competition. : Manchester United and Arsenal were respectively thrown out of the competition by Real Madrid (1-1 and 1-2) and Bayern Munich (1-3 and 0-2)

The 8 teams hoping to qualify for the Champions League semi-finals are:

Spain: FC Barcelona, Real Madrid and Malaga

Germany: Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund

Italy: Juventus

France: Paris Saint Germain

Turkey: Galatasaray
