After the first day of this year Champions League, who saw the most top teams win their match (except maybe, for Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea, defeated at Stamford Bridge by FC Basilea, and Borussia Dortmund, who fell in Italy against a strong Napoli squad), FC Barcelona have made a clear statement on the first day of this year’s top European competition.
Tata Martino‘s men are in it to win it all. After some messy 45 minutes, the Blaugrana went on second gear and asphyxiated the dutch squad. Leo Messi led the team with yet another hat trick, and Piqué scored a header to seal a 4-0 win for the Blaugrana against Ajax. Valdés not only saved a penalty, he had a brilliant goalkeeping evening, preventing the Dutch forwards to score.
